MATERNITY: Candy + Norman

Recently one of my past clients contacted me about maternity photos, and she was upfront about the fact that she wanted them to be amazing.  Of course we like to think all of our work is amazing, and to us it is, but I knew what she meant.  We picked a gorgeous beach, she bought a perfect flowy gown, we arrived just a tiny bit before sunset, and then the magic happened. I can honestly say this was one of my favorite shoots to date, and now the standard I will continue to hold myself to!  I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

MATERNITY: Whitney the Mermaid

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to travel up to San Luis Obispo to shoot a maternity session.  Little did I know SLO is truly a hidden gem, as far as Southern California is concerned!  Such beautiful vineyards and hillsides, but also so close to the beach!  The various locations Whitney chose made the for the best backdrops, seemingly out of a movie.  I can't wait to meet her little guy someday--he'll be here in just a few short weeks!

Everything about this shoot was magical.  Whitney is a natural beauty, but it helped that the sun wanted to show off a little too--I mean just LOOK at all that gorgeous golden light!  Thank you so much, Whitney, for allowing to capture this special time in your life as you prepare for motherhood.  You're going to be amazing!

MATERNITY: Anahi + Danny

Who says you can't get amazing photos on a rainy, overcast day?

~~
Something incredibly interesting about this couple is that Anahi does not speak english.  From her first communication with me, everything has been in Spanish.  Admittedly I've asked for a lot of help from her husband, Danny, but during the shoot there was little room for translation.  It is so amazing to me that despite our differences, we can still communicate through several other the bonds we do share.  As I was acting out this final pose, Anahi looked at me a bit skeptically.  I imitated a model tousling my hair while looking down at the waves, but she was still hesitant.  I giggled and made light of it, adding in a bit of exaggerated flair, and she immediately began to laugh as well.  If these pictures aren't proof enough, I will say she definitely rocked the pose!
